Why become an entrepreneur?
For the money?, To do things your way?, Flexibility?, A livable income?, Personal growth?, Building great wealth in future?, Creating products?, Gaining respect or admiration of others?, Ability to start or continue a family tradition?
The most important rewards for small business are growth, flexibility and income.
Growth rewards is what people get from facing and beating or learning from challenges.
Income rewards refers to money made from owning your own business.
Flexibility rewards refers to the ability to live your life the way it suits your needs.
Truth is everyone is thinking of owning their own but few really go on to start a business. The challenges of small business scare off or derail people. For years potential entrepreneurs have problems like.....
Not enough financing
You can’t start businesses when the economy is down
To make profits, you need to make something
If you fail, you can never try again
Students or Housewives don’t have the skills to start a business
Not enough financing: Informal capital is monies received from what I call...Family Friends and Folks....”Fools” –this group don’t care what you want if for, possible ...though hard to find. My dear.. the money is out there, from all this groups and from your pocket to start-up, from banks and angels if you can make a case for it.
To make profits, you need to make something:
Many businesses around the world with very high profits are services like dentists, tax payers, mining support, bloggers, counsellors, insurance brokers, legal and health practitioners...some of these businesses need little specialised training e.g. Book keeping companies... #Cashlog in Uyo is growing in this field.

If you fail, you can never try again:
If you close a business you started and pay off all your debts, you did not fail!!! If you learned how to do it next time the you can say you paid your dues and got an MBA. Most successful entrepreneurs had failures along the way, note “MCDONALDS FAILED IN REAL ESTATE”! I own a Card company am not glad I shutdown... Cardmasternigeria.com and I really want to get it back!
Student or Housewife:
Trust me you have useful business skills. Discussing to get fees from your guardian or getting a home allowance requires certain qualities.... As a student while in school you probable have a good idea students need and buy always. You can drop the shyness and start a mini-retail business from you Backpack. If you have negotiation skills the sky is your limit in retail and wholesaling especially for products you already understand like (T-shirts, energy drinks, textbooks, bags and musicboxes)
You have high level undocumented skills like the founder of Facebook or Yahoo!.. I wish I had this kind of skills!!! There are numerous competitions for students (www.gse.org) and the banks and government today is tilting towards help out.. Go for it.
Mompreneurs know
how to manage a home, negotiate family purchases and solve problems from broken
equipments to angry family members...need not say more! See MaryKay.
Dont let the myths
hold you back, knowing these truths is a powerful way to keep you motivated
through an undeniably tough work of starting
your own business.
